Is he or isn't he your classic Totemite? Left to his own devices (I confirmed this) he shows up at the dining hall in this marvelously busy get-up. I just love this. This and the whole scene - everything implied by it: the combination of emergent independence and absurd obliviousness. Little kids at camp!
