utopia at Farm Camp

Wow. The Farm Camp always astonishes me. It's paradise there. I drove over to play a game of Geronimo with the group and they were really, truly ready for my arrival. Such fun! They had set up the chairs in the open field among the yurts and dining hall and crafts barn. The sun was slanted in the west - it was the hour just before dinner.

We played a great round of the crazy game (Dan Weir was there and took the photo of the circle of chairs you see below). I was scheduled to drive further down the East Valley road to the East Valley Ranch (EVR) - for a combined Mustang and EVR Challenge Night - so I stayed at the Farm for dinner. Two of last year's cows had been sent off to a regional butcher and had come back as fabulous stew beef and also ground beef. So we ate delicious burgers, along with roasted beets from the garden (with beet greens) and a really tasty potato salad. So good!

Marissa Shadburn, the Farm director this summer, was the center of a theme day recently: "Marissa's Barn Mitzvah." This was their way of celebrating her 13th summer at Frost Valley.
