"the order of the oar" in the old dining hall

In the old dining hall, circa 1976. Remember the fabulous steel fireplace hood that descended from the high ceiling and covered the round stone fireplace in the middle of the main dining room? All announcements and songs and skits were positioned in front of the hood, facing the two main wings of the large room. This is where we also did our "Order of the Oar" birthday toss-ups.
