lucky 13

It's entirely possible that I'm the only one who cares about this, but I keep thinking about cabin 13. Old 13. (Now it's numbered 10.) Earlier I pondered a 1958 photo of this cabin. It was for decades part of Outpost. In the last several years "10" has served as something affectionately called "the commuter cabin." The Mac village staff is necessarily large and there are actually not enough bunks for the staff in the Mac lodges themselves, so some Mac staff rotate into the extra space in 10, to and from which these counselors "commutes."

Below are two photos of the group of old Outpost (now partly Forest) cabins. Just below you see old cabins 11 and 13. ("11" has been fixed up a bit and now serves as a full-year staff residence.) Below that is a photo of two other cabins in this grouping - one of them was once 13 (the Outpost VC cabin, in the middle of the old fern field). When the superlodges were placed at the top of this sloped clearing ("the upper flat") cabin 14 was moved down the hill and that's the second one you see here, re-numbered 9.
