Yesterday our friends from the Ruth Carole Gottscho Kidney Foundation board visited us, just as the dialysis unit is in full operation - with kids in camp who have had kidney transplants, others who are undergoing various kinds of treatments to compensate for kidney disease, including some who need to be dialyzed three times each week. As readers of this blog know, this miraculous program has been running since 1975. Here below are some photos from the visit.

In 42 years of this program, no one can remember that we ever had three pediatric nephrologists at camp all at the same time. From left to right: Lew Reisman, Rick Kaskel, and Bill Primack. All three of these gentlemen started working with our program in the 1970s. Bill was the very first "dialysis doctor" with us when the unit opened in 1975. |
