Rosemary (Roe) Balchunas and her brother David were here too. David's daughter has been a camper her for several years now, and they were all excited to be back.
Then, from nowhere, literally off the street (well, road), we see Bob and Michael Miller, who were campers here in the 70s. They'd been driving nearby, thought they'd see the old camp, and it just happened to be check-in day and thus a day when a visit could be possible. They waited for me in the dining and then we had quite a reunion, remembering all the details of being a camper in those days. With them and me are Peter Tilles (center), Sandra Shapiro Bohn (to my right).
John and Chris Vescio, also campers from around that period, were here to drop off their children - and we had great talk about, among other things, how I used to tussle their hair and how I helped Chris in particular with his major case of homesickness. John is a state trooper now and Chris is an accountant, and they are eager to be back in touch with us and to get involved.
